Lectronix, Garmin, Riverpark introduce DIS for recreational vehicle market
DETROIT, January 26, 2006 – Lectronix, a leading provider of integrated electronics technology, software and product design services, announced that its Navion Driver Information System has been chosen for a new integrated information console expressly designed for recreational vehicles.

Riverpark, a distributor of mobile audio/video products to the U.S. recreational vehicle industry, will begin offering the Lectronix Navion R5000, a highly integrated audio/video/vehicle management system. Within a single device, the Navion R5000 combines a radio, CD/MP3 player, USB-based MP3 and WMA FLASH drives, rear- and side-view camera system, fully integrated wireless tire pressure monitor system utilizing Advanced Pressure Pro technology, engine, coach and trip monitors and alarms, and an advanced vehicle management system. Navigation is also supported in the Navion R5000 through a tightly integrated Garmin International GVN 52 configurable GPS system with the familiar StreetPilot user interface.

The Navion R5000 installs easily into the same dashboard space commonly used for existing camera monitors on RVs, and replaces five separate systems (camera, radio, vehicle computer, navigation and tire pressure monitor) with one. The flexible design of the Navion R5000 also allows for a variety of expansion options, including the ability to “plug and play” XM or Sirius satellite radio and iPOD audio inputs.

“We are proud to work with partners such as Garmin and Riverpark to improve the integration and efficiency of driver information systems on recreational vehicles,” said Allan Dale, CEO of Lectronix. “Together with the combination of comprehensive design and flexible peripheral expansion options, the Navion R5000 offers RV owners the best platform for integrated audio, video, and information systems.”

The Lectronix Navion development system harnesses the specific automotive-grade capabilities of the hardware, operating system, and peripheral software components needed for building next generation telematics systems. The Lectronix Navion development system combines the low power and high performance of the Freescale Semiconductor MPC5200B processor with the hard real time capabilities and scalable architecture of the QNX Neutrino RTOS. Upon this foundation, the Lectronix AFrame applications framework provides the means for integrating a variety of technologies into a single device.
